We strive to work collaboratively with community groups to address issues that impact the well-being of those groups plus the general public. In this way, we identify activities that help firms to engage our community to actively participate and be part of their own change. We organize our community engagements through seminars, radio interactive sessions.

Information sharing

We are well known for our one-to-one exchange of information between us and the community. These information exchanges are implemented via  the radio and our multi-purpose center, messages, magazines, books to disseminate important information to our community. People who visit our radio have access to information, adverts pinned on our notice board, plus fliers at our desks.

We run a series of investigative activities to improve existing products and procedures or to lead to the development of new products and procedures.
With our platform, we use FADECO Bio-Crops to scale-up agriculture innovations to help rural farmers in Karagwe District to improve their food security and revenues.

The Hub

Center for Appropriate Technology

Located in Karagwe district situated in North Western Tanzania within 40km from Kayanga town, the center offers information resources to communities for livelihood improvement. Our main aim is to promote appropriate rural technologies and land rehabilitation through demonstrations, by availing information resources and community empowerment. A Voice to the Voiceless


FADECO radio, under The Family Alliance for Development and Cooperation (FADECO) is a local radio with a mission to promote food production, to alleviate poverty at house hold level and to give a Voice to the Voiceless. Mr. Sekiku, the director is a pioneer of many initiatives in Karagwe; he won the 2011 SEED award by United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) in recognition of enabling women access to profitable markets by developing a toolkit for value added post-harvest solar fruit drying in Eastern Africa.

Our Vision

To provide, disseminate and exchange development information to the people in Karagwe district so that they can actively participate in national development and to provide affordable communication and information services to meet the socioeconomic and cultural needs of everyone in Karagwe District.

Our Mission

To stimulate rural development by facilitating access to and dissemination of information, learning resources and communication technologies in Karagwe district; and to become the leading community radio contributing to the economic and social development of the Karagwe Communities and the nation at large.

Key Goals

To develop into a fully-fledged community multi-media tele-centre offering easy access to and a channel for the dissemination of information to the Karagwe community through : Internet access facilities, Local content generation/ dissemination Community and content radio broadcasting
To promote space for increased and meaningful participation in poverty eradication plan (MUKUKUTA) and village level participatory planning and community involvement
Provide a forum for the exchange/ sharing of ideas and expression on rural development
